====== Thai Beef Salad ====== ===== Serving ===== Makes enough for 4 good portions ===== Ingredients ===== * 850g sirloin (or rump or fillet) steak * 200g salad greens * 2 small red onions * 10 kaffir lime leaves * 3 large mild chillies * 50g coriander * 50g mint * 50g basil * 1 tsp soy sauce * 2 tbsp fish sauce (though I usually leave this out) * 2 tbsp lime juice * 2 tbsp brown sugar ===== Method ===== - Cut beef into bite sized strips - Char grill / barbeque / pan-fry beef in a little oil until cooked to preference - Set aside for 5 minutes - Finely slice the onions - Shred the kaffir lime leaves - Dice chillies. Remove seeds if you want to tone down the heat. Mistake. Just sayin' - Place salad greens, onion, kaffir lime leaves, chillies, coriander, mint and basil into a salad bowl and toss lightly - Combine the soy sauce, lime juice and sugar (and fish sauce if you like) to make a dressing - Place the beef on the salad - Pour over the dressing - Serve immediately
